COMMERCIAL FLYING INSECT CONTROL & PREVENTION

Flying Insect Control

Fly prevention built around exterior entry points, insect light traps, and sanitation, not just a spray after the fact.

Flies get into commercial kitchens, dumpster areas, and loading docks faster than most owners realize. Potter Pest Prevention’s commercial fly program starts at the entry points, then backs it up with monitoring and sanitation recommendations, across Pinellas County and select Hillsborough County.

Where Flies Get In

Large flies, like house flies, come from outside: through doors, windows, and dumpster or recycling areas. Small flies, like fruit flies and drain flies, usually start indoors, breeding in drains, disposals, or wherever moisture and food residue collect. We treat both, the exterior areas where flies breed and gather before they reach your building, and the indoor sources that keep a small-fly problem going. We tailor the plan to your facility instead of running the same program everywhere.

Fly Lights and Monitoring

Insect light traps are part of the program, not an add-on. They cut down flying insect activity and double as a monitoring tool: what we catch tells us which species we’re dealing with and where the real problem is. Traps get inspected, cleaned, and maintained on a regular schedule, with bulbs replaced every year.

Building a Complete Program

Light trap data feeds into the bigger picture. Sometimes the fix is better cleaning and sanitation practices, sometimes it’s a structural repair or an air door, sometimes it’s employee training on trash handling. We build the program around what the traps and inspection actually show.

  • Better cleaning and sanitation practices
  • Structural repairs where flies are getting in
  • Air doors at high-traffic entrances
  • Employee training on trash and food handling
